How can Usain Bolt move so quickly? We had a good try at beating his 100m record of 9.58 seconds and saw how far we coould run in 9.58 seconds.
We enjoyed working together to retell the story of Theseus and the Minotaur through drama.
We selected, used and combined a range of software to present information about the life cycle of an apple.

During Science Day we investigated the function of the stem/stalk. We discovered there are xylem tubes in the stem and capillary action enables the water to move through the stem to the leaves to help the plant make food (photosynthesis).
We enjoyed dissecting a tulip to find out about the different parts of a flower. We found out that a flower has female parts and male parts!
We had a great afternoon introducing our new topic 'How did that blossom become an apple?'. We worked in our Kagan groups to make a fruit salad. We had to wash, peel and cut the different fruits. We looked at the inside of each fruit and were suprised with what we found. The best part was definitely tasting our finished product. We even tried fruit that we hadn't tasted before!

During our topic we are learning about volcanoes. We have made our own volcanoes. We hope they don't erupt!!

During Art Week we studied the work of L.S.Lowry. We looked at his industrial landscapes and his portraits. We thought about how his art work tells us about life at this time before we created our own version.

During our visit to Portland Basin we found out about life as a rich or poor child during the Victorian Era. We all decided that we are glad that we live in the present because life was so much harder in 1837!
